Nepal's national flower is the rhododendron, and the country is home to over thirty different types of this exquisite flower.
Rhododendron flowers, which range in hue from vivid red and pink to white and yellow, cover the slopes and woodlands surrounding Poon Hill in a carpet of vibrant blooms in the spring. Usually beginning in lower elevations in March, flowers progressively travel up to higher elevations over March, resulting in an abundance of color covering the hillsides in April and May.
Not only that, the views of the Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill are breathtaking and will surely be an experience of a lifetime for you. From Poon Hill, you can view mountains such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, Hinchuli, Annapurna III, Dhampus Peak, Dhulagiri II, and other tall peaks.
One interesting fact is that when you are standing in front of Annapurna Base Camp, you will observe that Machapuchare is standing opposite Mount Annapurna.
