Itinerary

Expand AllCollapse All

It takes around seven hours to reach Arughat from Kathmandu. The first part of the journey is smooth as we go through highway. But, from Gorkha the path is rough. We take some rest before beginning our trail from Arughat. We begin walking through lush valleys and rice paddy fields. We follow Budi Gandaki khola (River), climb over the Kyoropani, descent down to the junction of the Budi Gandaki and the Sundi khola. Enjoy a refreshing swim and camp overnight on this spot. Overnight in Soti Khola.

The trail narrows down leading through densely forested hillsides, adorned with some small stranded villages. Trek though steep valley sides passing Lapbesi village descending down to the riverbed and following the wide and sandy path towards Machha Khola (Fish Stream). We put on at nearby Maccha Khola organizing a camp for the night.

Today, we cross Maccha Khola, and walk upstream towards Khola Bensi. Enjoy a bath in the hot spring there, and then move along the steep valley sides.
The trek goes though a forest path resting for a cup of tea at Doban, and then walks to Lauri, where we switch back to the right side of the river through suspension bridge. A little climb and the sight of Jagat’s field will welcome you for an overnight camp.

From Jagat we head towards Deng. It is around seven hours walk to Deng village which is made up of just about 4 houses. From Jagat, we descend towards the river through stone steps and then ascend up a terraced hillside Saguleri where we halt for some time to catch the exotic view of the Sringi Himal (7187m). Then, after a few more crossings over the river we ultimately climb up to Deng where we set camp for the night.

Initially, it is a flat path that we travel and after some time we begin uphill trail throughout the way to Namrung. We walk through forest. Views of Mt. Manaslu, green valley and ridges are fascinating at Namrung. It is a Buddhist village with monasteries, mani walls, chortens and prayer flags flapping in the sky. Overnight in Namrung.

To reach Samagaun from Namrung, you will pass through Banjam, Lihi, Sho, Lho, and Sayla. On the way, before reaching Lho, you will view a monastery which is recognized as the one in the region. In this monastery, more than 200 monks study among whom all are boys. The path towards Lihi is steep and marching there will give you the view of Ganesh Himal, north Himchuli and Naike peak in the right. We continue our trip towards Sho and in the corner, we find two ways, among which one lead to Hinayang monastery and another path leading to Manaslu larkya pass. From Sho, it will take 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Lho and from Lho we trek for 2 hours to reach Sayla. From Sayla, it will take 1 hour to reach Samagaun. From the syala, you will get the panoramic view of north Himalchuli, Nadi Chuli Manaslu, north Manaslu, Nike peak, Saula Himal, and siringi himal. Real yak view is also a major satisfaction. It is the biggest village which originated about 200 years ago from Tibet. It is the popular place for commerce and is the route to Manaslu Base Camp.

After 3 hours of a hike on the steep uphill (about 15 minutes) and flat land, you will reach the destination. On the way, you can have views of Syaula Peak, Naike Peak, Manaslu, Himchuli, Larke peak and Cho peak. The additional spark is added by the west and north-Himchuli. It is the small young village, at the height of 3800m. The place has the facility of electricity as it has its own micro Hydropower Project running in the area. The path to reach there is simple which can be done with simple walk except for some minutes of steep walk.
Our journey starts in the morning with a downhill trek up to Budhi Gandaki River. Then we cross the river and again march upward through Larkya Bazaar and Valley of Salka Khola towards Dharmasala which is not actually a lodge but an easy place to stay for a night. It is 7km away and will take about 4 hours to reach there in normal days. We have the high chance to see blue sheep. This place is also known as Larke Phedi. Stay overnight at Dharmasala.

Today we walk towards north direction where the face of Larkya glacier offers us view of Larkya peak and Cho Danda as well. From here we begin ascend trail to reach Larkya La Pass. It is the highest point of our entire trek and is perfect place to admire beauty of Nepal with the spark of Cheo himal, Himlung Himal, Kangguru and massive Annapurna II (7,937m). The steep descend ahead leads us to Bhimthang. The trek is relatively longer today as we have to walk a bit more to reach Bimtang where we will spend a night.

Today, our trail descends to Dudh Khola. We cross through pine and rhododendron forest to reach Dharapani where we put off for the night.

From Dharapani we catch jeep and drive to Besisahar. Again, from Besisahar we drive on the bank of Marsyagdi river to come Kathmandu. On arriving Kathmandu NTA will offer you farewell dinner.

Our team guides, porters and accompanying staff are locals with a broad knowledge about each and every location that we travel through.

                        Manaslu Express trek

An exclusive permit was required for the Manaslu Express trek. I learned this from my friends who had previously gone hiking in the Manaslu region. Several of my friends claimed that getting the permit required a lot of work and extra money. And yet, I knew about Nepal Trek Adventures, who obtained the permit quickly, allowing the trek to go without any permit-related issues. I had the opportunity to see the stunning Mountains, rivers, and flora along the trip. Apart from that, the staff kept us calm and ensured that every step of the journey went without a hitch. I truly want to work with the NTA team again since the service they gave was just fantastic.

Best Trekking Agency for Manaslu Express Trekking

I planned manaslu expresss trekking long time ago but my friends spoiled the plan at the last minute, but I really wished to go for the trek anyhow, not alone though. Then I contacted Nepal trek adventures to know if they could arrange a group for me. In no time, they sent the departure details of other people going for the trek in my feasible dates. They finally made the trek possible. Not only this, the team made sure I was comfortable with the group and soon I had new friends to be with me throughout the trek. The trek went amazing due to Nepal trek adventures.
